Writing

Wed Jan 28, 2009, 9:33 AM
Well i haven't really been up to much on the writing front recently to be honest; apart from my English A2 Coursework which i am looooving :D Especially since i got a 58/60 grade A with it! LOL

You can find it at this link: [link]

It is a Text Transformation based on the poem 'The Eve Of St Agnes' by Keats which revolves around two characters - Porphyro and Madeline. I interpreted Porphyro to be cold, calculating and misleading - as he takes advantage of Madelines belief in the Eve Of St Agnes (she goes to bed on the eve after performing certain rites, and then believes she will see her future husband in a dream) when he awakes her during the night, feasts with her, has sex with her and then they both make their leave.

I have modernised this concept and transfered it to a well known story of the missing young girl 'Madeline Mccann'; my text revolves around this character who wants to 'be' essentially Porphyro...

Have a read and let us know what you think! :)

I've also included the Commentary to help explain some of the things which might require you to know about the Eve of St Agnes :)
